The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.

What is the Canada Greener Homes Initiative?
The Canada Greener Homes Initiative , introduced by the federal government, is designed to boost the energy efficiency of residential buildings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and foster the development of a greener economy. This program provides financial incentives to homeowners for making energy-efficient home improvements that also enhance resilience to extreme weather. It consists of two key components:
Canada Greener Homes Grant: Up to $5,000 to support energy-saving upgrades.
Canada Greener Homes Loan: An interest-free loan of up to $40,000 to help fund more extensive renovations.
To qualify for both the grant and the loan, homeowners must complete an EnerGuide home evaluation with an energy advisor accredited by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). Additionally, the program offers up to $600 to cover part of the energy assessment costs.
Interest-free Loan of up to $40,000
Homeowners who are part of the Canada Greener Homes Grant, such as those participating in the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) in Ontario or Rénoclimat in Quebec, may be eligible for an interest-free Canada Greener Homes Loan of up to $40,000. Managed by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) , this loan is repayable over a 10-year period and offers an advance of up to 15% upfront, easing the process of securing contractors who often require a deposit.
At Porte et Fenêtre Mystro , we understand that high-quality home improvements can be expensive, but they’re essential to get right. Our financing solutions align with government loan standards, empowering homeowners to plan and complete larger projects while benefiting from economies of scale. Given the impact of inflation, an interest-free loan means long-term savings. Plus, with government-backed funding, you're putting your own tax dollars to good use. It's an incredible opportunity for homeowners to upgrade their properties affordably.
Get up to $20,000 back in Quebec
In Quebec, funding from the Greener Homes Grant is accessible through the Rénoclimat program, managed by the provincial government. For eligible window and door replacements, homeowners can receive $60 per rough opening, with a maximum of up to $20,000 per single-family home. To benefit from this program, enrollment must be initiated through Rénoclimat or with the help of its approved EnerGuide advisors.
At Portes et Fenêtres Mystro , we ensure our products meet the program’s standards, making it easier for homeowners to take advantage of these valuable incentives. We're here to help you make the most of the opportunities available for enhancing your home's energy efficiency.
Canada Greener Homes Grant: up to $5,000 back!
Announced in 2020 and launched in 2021, the Canada Greener Homes Grant reimburses up to $5000 for qualifying retrofits . The grant is conditional on performing an EnerGuide home assessment , and also covers an extra of up to $600 for it. Qualifying retrofits should be recommended by the advisor to make residences more energy-efficient, and can include windows and doors, home insulation, heating equipment, and renewable energy. Other upgrades like resiliency measures, air sealing, and programmable thermostats are also covered, albeit to a lesser extent.
Now, up to $10,000 back in Ontario! North York!
As of 2023, the Canada Greener Homes Grant is implemented in Ontario by Enbridge Gas, whose Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) was expanded to the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program . Under the new program, the maximum redeemable amount for Enbridge Gas customers went up from $250 to $325 per qualifying window, and the maximum total increased from $5,000 to $10,000. That’s great news for those looking to undertake more extensive home improvements.
